Dental Implants at Van Leeuwen Dental

FC – Dental Implants at Van Leeuwen Dental

Missing teeth can impact more than just how you eat or speak. At Van Leeuwen Dental, we offer comprehensive dental implant treatment to restore function, support long-term oral health, and provide a permanent solution. Conveniently located in Cottonwood Heights, UT, we serve the surrounding areas of Sandy, Riverton, and the greater Salt Lake City metropolitan area. Our office is dedicated to quality implant dentistry with personalized attention at each step.

Why Dental Implants?

Dental implants are the standard treatment for replacing missing or non-restorable teeth. Unlike dentures or bridges, implants provide a stable, permanent foundation that closely mimics natural teeth. Implants are placed into the jawbone, which prevents bone loss and maintains your facial structure.

At Van Leeuwen Dental, we provide comprehensive implant treatment by offering surgery and final restoration in one office. Whether you have one missing tooth or several missing teeth or need denture stabilization, our implant services are customized to meet your needs.

How Our Implant Services Are Different

Van Leeuwen Dental is led by experienced implantologist Dr. Michael Van Leeuwen, who specializes in minimally invasive dentistry. With thirty years of experience and a proven clinical record, Dr. Van Leeuwen provides expert care from diagnosis to final restoration. He is an instructor for the Academy of Minimally Invasive Implantology and a member of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry, ensuring your care incorporates the latest technology, techniques, and education.

Each patient receives individualized treatment. After a thorough evaluation, we determine whether to use immediate placement, bone grafting, or other pre-implant procedures.

Advantages of Choosing Implants

  • Permanence: Dental implants are designed to last. With proper maintenance, they can last for decades or a lifetime.
  • Bone Preservation: Implants prevent bone loss by stimulating the jawbone like natural tooth roots.
  • No Impact on Adjacent Teeth: Unlike bridges, implants do not require neighboring teeth to be reshaped or reduced.
  • Improved Function: Implants provide superior stability for chewing and speaking.
  • Custom Fit: Every implant-supported restoration is custom-made for optimal comfort, function, and appearance.

Implant-supported dentures are also available for current denture wearers. They significantly reduce slippage and discomfort, providing greater confidence when eating and speaking.

The Van Leeuwen Dental Implant Process

Our dental implant process is designed to be thorough, successful, and minimally invasive. Here is what patients can expect:

Initial Consultation and Evaluation
We begin with a comprehensive oral examination and imaging. This helps us assess your bone density and oral health and determine whether you are a good implant candidate.

Implant Placement
The implant—a small titanium post—is surgically placed into the jawbone where the missing tooth was located. Over the next few months, the bone integrates with the implant in osseointegration.

Abutment and Restoration
After healing, we place an abutment (connector) and create a crown or prosthetic that matches your natural teeth's function, shape, and size.

Because we provide surgical and restorative treatment in-house, our patients benefit from continuity of care, fewer visits, and streamlined treatment.
